At the international Snow Sculpting Symposium, a highlight of the Ely Winter Festival,
in Minnesota, Nancy is a staple. She is fascinated by the many ways that snow presents itself.
Her snow sculpting process includes planning, and unpredictability.
She begins with an 8-by-8-foot block of snow, and using tools like shovels, tin cans,
garden tools, and curry combs, Nancy and her team of friends create her vision in three days.
Some years the snow is pristine white, others with ice and dirt and others it's too warm.
All part of the adventure.
